Join us for the first HIGHLANDER - TRIAL hiking day!

Join us on Sunday, May 19, 2024 on a hike in the embrace of the Kamnik Savinja Alps, on the beautiful trails of Krvavec. This day is dedicated to lovers of mountains and hiking, good company and getting to know HIGHLANDER hiking events better. We will add informative content and useful tips on the topic of multi-day hikes and socialize with special guests. Who are they? Read on :)

The hike will last 3 to 4 hours and will take us from start at Planina Jezerca, where you will receive the start package, through picturesque landscape, where we will enjoy the beauty of nature and the fresh air. But that's not all! At the finish line on the "beach" at Krvavec, we will socialize and listen to the conversation with interesting guests who will be available for you to ask questions and chat, or just for a selfie. Jure Košir*, Matjaž Šerkezi, Vid Pintarič* and Simona Fabjan* (*RIo mare ambasadors) will be with us. All the talks will be hels in Slovenian language, so if you understand at lease a bit of Slovenian, you are welcome to join us!

You will have the opportunity to get to know their stories, experiences and talk with them about their passion for mountains and sports. There will be some useful tips on safety in the mountains in our short lecture. Knowing about safety is the key to enjoying nature carefree, so don't miss this opportunity for useful information.

For an even greater adventure and getting to know the HIGHLANDER Slovenia event, we will also present a demonstration of setting up tents and cooking pasta with tuna Rio mare on a gas-stove. You will discover how to create a comfortable refuge in nature and prepare a delicious meal outdoors.

Registration fee and who is the event for?

Participation is free of charge, the link to the application form can be found HERE. The event is intended for all types of hikers. Everyone who is thinking about participating or who is registered in HIGHLANDER Kamniško Savinjske Alpe or HIGHLANDER Julian Alps is especially invited. Families will also be able to make their hike a little shorter.

What should I bring with me?

Since the event is also a presentation of the HIGHLANDER event, we invite you to bring a mat for sitting, utensils and a plate, as the organizer will provide a hiking snack (Insalatissime Rio mare). But if you also bring a gas-stove, you will be able to cook a hot meal (pasta and Rio mare tuna). To make the experience as realistic as possible, you are invited to bring a tent, let's set it up together and have a rest in it, as the real HIGHLANDER.

Applications are mandatory via the link HERE (children under 16 do not need to apply separately), the application deadline is 14/5/2024, or until vacancies are filled.

PROGRAM

• 8.30 – 9.00 registration at the parking lot at Planina Jezerca
• 9:00 a.m. start
• 10:00 a.m. stop - making coffee and a snack
• 11.00 - 13.00 Arrival at the destination - Krvavec Beach
• 13.00 Guided conversation with Juret Košir*, Matjaž Šerkezi, Simona Fabjan* and Vid Pintarič* (*RIo mare ambasadors)
• 13.30 Guided talk about safety in the hills
• 14.00 Prize draw (Spartan Slovenia starting fee and partners gift packages)
• End of the event and self-directed return

What else do I need to know?

• The event will be in Slovenian, if you understand at least a little bit od Slovenian, you are very welcome
• Applications are required via the application form (see link above)
• The hike is partially guided, you will receive a route map in the starter pack, a GPX track will also be available, or you can follow our guide.
• The event will take place in any weather, except in the event of a very bad forecast (e.g. heavy rain or storms)
• You are welcome to bring your own stove, lunch kit and tent. Be sure to bring a mat for sitting/lying and snacks.
